Arncliffe Post Office opened 1884

Postal services began in Arncliffe in April 1878, and were located in various general stores until 1884 when they moved to the railway station. The station master, Mr W Marsden conducted the postal business from the railway booking office.

This handsome building of brick and stone was completed in March 1898. Part of it - which was probably the Post Master/Mistress's residence - is now a real estate agency. This lovely building remains one of the best examples of this kind of public building in Postcode 2205. It was restored in recent years.

And here's the Post Office at Arncliffe, Yorkshire

Below, I am making a phone call from Arncliffe, Yorkshire to Arncliffe, Sydney
