Quite a short street, running between Forest Road and Wollongong Road.
Earle St was named after Alderman Lancelot lewis Earl, alderman of Rockdale Council 1925-1937. The name has been mis-spelt.
Arncliffe is a working class suburb in the inner south of Sydney, approx 10 kms (12 minutes by train) from central Sydney. It's never going to make a list of Sydney's most fashionable suburbs (though it was once - 150 years ago!) It's where I've lived for the past 22 years, and I love it, so I want to share some of its quirky bits, history, and, yes, beautiful parts, with whoever is interested.
